02 / WHAT FAMILIES MAKE BOOKS ABOUT

A big day ahead. A hard moment.
Or just for fun.

Every book starts with one child. Here’s a real book of each kind.

What families make books about

Dev’s Haircut, Stop by Stop

Sample book · an invented family

Cover of the sample book Dev’s Haircut, Stop by Stop: Dev in orange headphones sits in a barber chair with his train-line card, between his mom and Ray the barber.
Ray presses the chair’s pedal as Dev sits up high in his orange headphones, Little Red and the card on his lap, with Mom right beside him.

First, Dev climbs into the big chair. Ray pumps the pedal. Up, up! At any step, Dev can say, “Stop the train!” Ray stops and waits for Dev’s “All aboard!” They can finish another day.

Dev’s first haircut, stop by stop, in the order his family planned, with a break word he can use at any step.

Under the Coconut Leaves

Made for our founder’s son, Luca

Cover of Under the Coconut Leaves: Luca and his dad lie on his bed at night, imagining a moonlit island with coconut trees.
On a sunny beach, Luca and his dad crouch beside a little coconut with tears on its shell, while an island party dances and drums nearby.

Beneath a palm sat a little coconut. Tears trickled down its hairy shell. “Too much,” it sniffled. “Too much tum-tum. Too much stamp-stamp.”

Luca wanted coconut trees. His dad wanted a story about big, teary feelings. So a little coconut finds the island party too loud, and they sit with it.

Ada and the Too-Squishy Sea

Sample book · an invented family

Cover of the sample book Ada and the Too-Squishy Sea: a girl in red glasses draws a blue crayon sea at the kitchen table between her smiling parents, while a big orange cat sleeps on the paper.
Mama and Daddy kiss Ada’s cheeks while the octopus wraps his bent arm around her finger in a hug.

“I still wish that arm were different,” said Ada. Mama kissed one cheek. Daddy kissed the other. “Different?” gasped the octopus. “That’s my BEST arm! My hugging arm!” It curled right around Ada’s finger. He tried a straighter arm. Slip. Another. Slop. “See?” Ada giggled. “That’s a very good hug.”

For a child who says “I’m bad at drawing.” Ada’s wobbly lines turn out to be the best part.

Sophia and Luca’s Bubble Bakery

Made for our founder’s kids, Sophia and Luca · early preview

Cover of Sophia and Luca’s Bubble Bakery: under the painted title, Sophia and her brother Luca run a shop on a cloud, with bubble ice cream, a bubble cake and bubble pancakes.
Luca and Sophia stack shimmering pancake-shaped bubbles into a wobbly tower.

Luca blew a pancake bubble. Sophia put another on top. Then another. “A wibble-wobble stack!” they said.

Their favorite game, blowing bubbles, becomes a bakery in the sky.

03 / HOW IT’S MADE

Talk with Flora.
Read every page.

  1. The bookmaker on a phone: Flora’s golden petal and her first question, “Who’s the book for?”, with a parent typing an answer about their son Dev, his first real haircut and his love of trains.

    Tell Flora about them.

Talk or type. Flora asks a few questions.

  2. The bookmaker’s page reader on an iPad: spread 3 of Dev’s Haircut, Stop by Stop, with the picture, the words and a control to ask for a change.

04 / QUESTIONS

A few things
you may wonder.

Is it for autistic kids?

Yes, and for any child. Each book starts from yours: what they love, the words your family uses, the routines that already work and the places they know. You read every page and can ask for changes before you buy.

Do I need photos of my child?

No. Characters are drawn from what you tell Flora. We don’t use photos of children to make characters. A familiar place can come from a photo with no people in it, or from your own words.

Can I change things?

Yes. You read every word and see every picture, including the ending, and you can ask for changes before you buy.

When can I order?

Ordering opens soon, and people with early access hear first. Add your email above. Joining is free and doesn’t commit you to anything.

Is Flora an AI?

Yes. Flora is an AI co-author. Flora asks questions and drafts the story, and the pictures are made with AI image tools. You guide the story.
